The first NSDI India - GISE Hub conclave was designed to bring together different members of governmental agencies, academia and the geospatial industry to discuss problems and their solutions in four priority thematic areas, viz., Water, Transport, Urban Development, and Disaster Management. These are sectors that require the development and deployment of innovative geospatial technologies, relevant data as well as engagement mechanisms, to address the challenges faced therein. Academic institutions participated in these discussions as well and thus helped reinforce capacity building for the above agencies by using project-based learning and aligning research projects to deal with the identified challenges. Non-governmental organizations, entrepreneurs and students too were encouraged to participate in the discussions.
The conclave was organized in hybrid mode and brought together geospatial technologies experts with a single objective - to build solutions for pressing problems. While in-person participation was be invitation-only, online participation was open to all registered delegates.
Venue : VMCC Building in IIT Bombay, Mumbai 400076.
